Athabasca Missionary Church
Hello and welcome to the Who we are: We are a community of people who are devoted to following Jesus Christ. We are a part of a larger national group of believers identified as the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada. We serve in numerous occupations in our community, and are excited about sharing our faith in Jesus Christ with the people of Prayer: Prayer for all ages is encouraged. Prayer teams will be available to assist in interceding for others, and for special prayer needs that require immediate prayer. Call the church office for info. Small Groups: We believe that believers grow and mature best within smaller groups devoted to caring for each other and serving Christ together in areas of spiritual gifting. We encourage each follower of Jesus to participate in a small group. Missions: We are committed to the commandment of Christ to be every day missionaries in our community and world. We have a number of overseas missionaries we regularly support. Special Events: These include things such as Men's Fishin' Mission, and the Church Family Camp Out in the summer. We also sponsor gospel concerts and other Christian events in conjunction with other churches in the area. Adult and Family Fellowship: Fellowship activities are a great way to get to know each other, and to build relationships. Several events like monthly fellowship lunches, Christmas banquet & fun nights are scheduled during the year. Kingdom Kids: The children are important to us, and we include them in most of what we do as a church. A children's teaching and worship program takes place during our regular worship services. We bring the gospel alive in a way children can relate to. Kingdom Kids will be something every kid from 5 to 12 will look forward to each Sunday, along with Kingdom Lambs, ages 2 to 4, and Kingdom Angels, ages 6 months to 2 years. Youth: Exciting, life-changing programs for everyone from Grade 5 to College. Find the group that's right for you: Tweens - Grades 5-6: This may be the most fun you could have on a Friday night; anything could happen. Come discover the massive life you can have with God! Games, worship, and friends... how can you miss? Call the church office for more info on this terrific program. Youth Group - Grades 7-12: Meets on Friday evenings for action- packed events, Bible Study and outreach serving events. Our Youth Leaders are Dave and Janet Kamelchuk and they are eager to see all the young people involved. For more information, call Dave or Janet. Outreach Ministries: Reaching out to others with the love and truth of God is an important priority of our church family. Our desire is to have a well-balanced ministry to believers and unbelievers. Our primary strategy for outreach is Alpha. This is a 9 week video series that explores the basic truth of who Jesus is and why we should believe and follow Him. Contact the church office to find out when the next Alpha study is starting.
